Overview

Osukai best embodies a slow-building snowball, using Hook to boost its already-impressive ATK stat allowing it to deal lots of damage through either a Sensei set or a collection of solid physical attacks. Its roll is somewhat slowed by very lopsided bulk and a typing that is weak to many techniques that are faster than it and hit it in its weak SPDEF. Using Osukai correctly involves managing your speed and matchups, but few things are scarier than one who has gotten off multiple Hooks.

As 0.9.3 and 0.9.4 weakened many other forms of offensive scaling like Purgation, Sparks, Aggresor, Hostile, Spiritual, Heat Up, Humiliating Slap, and Perfect Jab - Hook, and one of its most powerful users, Osukai, were left untouched. This helped vault Osukai from an outclassed bulky snowballer into a fearsome tem in its own right.

Hook, Sensei, and Slingshot are the notable combo here, giving Osukai relentlessly scaling speed and power for a fairly efficient stamina cost. While the up-front damage isn't particularly notable, Osukai really only needs one or two Hooks to get going - if it gets that space, look out. Dust Vortex leverages Sensei to be an absolute blast of an earth attack when boosted by a Hook or two, and Martial Strike helps a boosted Osukai get in an efficient attack before running out of stamina - useful in the lategame. Jinxed Whisper leverages the boosted speed from Slingshot to sleep a target that threatens Osukai, though it will have to rest or swap afterwards.

Osukai is great into earths, crystals and fires, so it can provide great cover for tems like Innki and Minothor.
